FRIENDSHIP FORCE EUROPEAN CONFERENCE
3-6 MAY, 2012
BUDAPEST / RACKEVE
„THE WORLD, FAMILIES AND WOMEN FROM FF’S EYE VIEW”
Besides discussing the general issues of the organization, and giving an overview of exchanges in Europe in the past two years, the conference would like to focus on the theme explained hereunder:
“CHANGING THE WAY YOU SEE THE WORLD”
is the new slogan of Friendship Force International. Within its vision it declares, that by connecting the world, one friend at a time, it will create a world of friends that becomes peace.
We would like to find out, what’s behind the interpretation of the sentence? Celebrating the organization’s 35th anniversary in 2012, we would like to seek that since the founding in 1977 how the clubs and members of FFI helped implement the goals (Faces, Not Places, Faces and Places); what were the experiences that made people to join? We would also like to evaluate the role of families, women in the reflection of generations: how to attract younger folks and new members (what was the success ratio to the initiatives of the past years) to participate in such missions instead of taking the easiest way to register on a tour with a travel agency. What is the inner motivation to join? What kind of extras can Ambassadors and Host get?
Eventually Europe became “united” with the enlargement of the EU (Hungary and several others joined in 2004), but despite globalisation attempts each country is trying to preserve its own heritage and culture. By taking our ambassadors’ mission seriously we would like to know how can individuals, families and clubs contribute to achieve the meaning of FFI’s slogan.
Therefore we kindly ask participants, to share their experiences through presentations with us.
